Auguste Serreplan boarded Titanic at Cherbourg, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, bound for Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Auguste Serreplan was maid to Lucile Carter, so was part of a large entourage which included William Ernest Carter, his wife, Lucile Carter, and the couple's two children, Lucile Polk Carter, and William Thornton Carter. Also traveling in the Carter entourage were two members of the family's staff. Charles Augustus Aldworth was William Ernest Carter's chauffeur, and Alexander Cairns was William Ernest Carter's valet.

Lucile Carter, Lucile Polk Carter, William Thornton Carter and Auguste Serreplan all managed to board lifeboat 4. William Ernest Carter managed to board lifeboat collapsible C, but Charles Augustus Aldworth and Alexander Cairns were both lost, and their bodies were not recovered.
